Over the course of this week, as we ease into our new blogspace, we’ll be introducing both ourselves and our Farm with posts on who we are, what we grow, and how to cook with that produce.
Hi! I’m Zan Romanoff, and I’m the Lazarus Program Coordinator at the YSFP. I started working for the Project when I was an undergraduate, as a summer Farm intern in 2007 after a brief, boring stint as a publishing intern. I thought it would be a good chance to regroup, rethink my career path, and maybe get my very first tan; instead I fell in love with the Farm and the idea of small-scale sustainable agriculture. I worked for the YSFP during my remaining two years at Yale before graduating with a B.A. in Literature, and came back to take this full time position just over a year ago.
As the Program Coordinator, I run Harvest, a pre-orientation program for incoming freshmen which takes them to local organic farms in the days before school begins, as well as our yearly speaker series, Chewing the Fat. I’ll also be heading up this blog, so please send thoughts, questions, comments etc. to me at firstname.lastname@example.org— or you can comment here! Either way, I’m looking forward to hearing from you, and getting this thing off the ground.
